The first SCITHOS challenge was held in Darmstadt, Germany! With 14 enthusiastic participants from various backgrounds and roles in the city, 3 hours and 4 game rounds later, interesting discussions and strategic insights were generated how to carefully plan tourism in a city. The different teams in the game (mobility, attractions, hospitality, ecology and destination management) had to find concessions how to implement the best policies for the future of their city.
As one participant said: ‘ the game seems easy but the complexity of planning a destination with different players makes it hard to progress, but we had fun and learned a lot!’
The challenge will be played in 5 more cities and we are looking forward to engage more people!
